Iondrive (ASX:ION) has signed a binding term sheet with Latitude 66 (ASX:LAT) to apply its proprietary Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) technology to concentrates from LAT66's projects in Finland, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.0
The company said that testing will occur on metallurgical core samples provided by Lattitude 66, and results will form part of feasibility studies as Lattitude 66 progresses the mine into production.
Iondrive said it has previously demonstrated 98.6% cobalt recovery from battery black mass, validating the platform's effectiveness in extracting critical metals.
The company added that the pilot plant for black mass recycling remains on track for commissioning at the end of the year, providing a clear timeline for broader DES commercialisation milestones.
Iondrive shares rose 4% in recent Tuesday trade while Lattitude 66 shares rose almost 7%.
