智通财经APP获悉，据报道，IBM(IBM.US)表示，其一项关键的量子计算算法可以AMD(AMD.US)的标准芯片上运行。IBM负责量子计算业务的副总裁Jay Gambetta表示，这项研究表明，IBM的算法不仅能在现实环境中发挥作用，还可以在一款“并非昂贵得离谱”的AMD芯片上运行。Jay Gambetta表示：“能够真正实现算法，并且证明其运行速度比所需快10倍，这是一个重大突破，”他还指出，这项在周五披露的算法研究比原计划提前一年完成。
IBM正推进一项多年计划，目标是在2029年前开发出名为“Starling”的量子计算机。目前，该公司正与微软(MSFT.US)及Alphabet(GOOGL.US)竞相开发量子计算技术。本周早些时候，谷歌宣布其量子计算算法取得突破。Alphabet首席执行官Sundar Pichai表示，该公司的量子计算芯片“Willow”实现了“史上首个可验证的量子优势”。
量子计算机通过量子比特(qubit)来解决传统计算机需耗时数千年的复杂问题。不过，量子比特极易出错，这些误差会迅速淹没量子芯片的有效计算成果。
