InterContinental Hotels Beat Came Against Low Expectations -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Oct 23
1135 GMT - InterContinental Hotels Group's third quarter was slightly above expectations, but this comes against a background of caution, Jefferies analysts write in a note. Revenue per available room rose 0.1%, a surprise given that U.S. revenue per available room fell and there was continued weakness in the region including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, the analysts say. The U.K. hotel group's expansion pace remains steady even when accounting for Las Vegas's Venetian resort exiting the portfolio, the analysts write. Shares fall 1.3%. (william.gray@wsj.com)
