A nonprofit affiliated with Sony Group (TYO:6758), Arc & Beyond, is initiating a program to provide animation training in Africa with the goal of fostering future partnerships with Japanese studios, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday.

The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Japan External Trade Organization and Kyoto University of the Arts, will deliver online courses and offer advisory support from story creation through to the production of short films, the publication said.

The program will directly support studios such as Ghana's AnimaxFYB Studios and Nigeria's CR Motion+, it added.

This effort aims to cultivate skilled animators and facilitate long-term creative exchanges between African and Japanese animation industries, the news daily said.
