China removed Li Chenggang as its representative and ambassador to the World Trade Organization, Xinhua News reported.
Li Chenggang was appointed to the post in April, replacing Wang Shouwen, just days after China launched tariffs of 125% against the U.S., Reuters wrote.
Li Chenggang is succeeded by Li Yongjie, according to Xinhua.
