Wildcat Resources (ASX:WC8) completed stage 1 metallurgical testwork for the Chewy lithium and Tabba Tabba tantalum resources as recommended by the Tabba Tabba pre-feasibility study (PFS), according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The company expects the Chewy resource to add value in the definitive feasibility study (DFS) by potentially converting material previously classified as waste in the PFS into ore.

The company identified viable processing methods for both resources, unlocking opportunities to enhance the Tabba Tabba Project's economics, per the filing.

The company added that Leia and Luke resources are spodumene dominant and are currently being optimized for the DFS.

The company's shares rose past 4% in recent Tuesday trade.
