Malaysia's Export Rebound Likely to Support Growth Outlook -- Market Talk

0119 GMT - Malaysia's stronger export performance, as shown in September, could help cushion the economy against global trade uncertainties this year, TA Securities economist Farid Burhanuddin says in a note. If momentum holds, full-year export growth may exceed his forecast of below 2%, but he prefers to wait for October trade data before making any revisions. Despite external headwinds, Malaysia's growth outlook may remain supported by recovering net exports as well as steady domestic demand, which is helped by firm household spending, policy measures and a stable job market, he adds.
