Hotels Lag Travel Recovery, Putting Outlooks at Risk -- Market Talk

1442 ET - Lodging investors are cautious heading into 3Q earnings, Bank of America analysts say. Although airlines have painted a more positive picture about the state of travel in the U.S., hotels and lodging adjacent companies may not bounce back so quickly, the analysts say. Lodging companies appear to be on track to hit or just miss Wall Street estimates, putting them in a tight spot where they will need strong 4Q growth to meet full-year outlooks, the analysts say. The analysts think Hilton and Wyndham will be the most challenged to hit full-year views, as their revenue per available room looks low. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
