Premier Inc. has submitted recommendations to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in response to a request for information on reforming artificial intelligence $(AI)$ regulations. Drawing from its experience in healthcare AI, Premier urged the OSTP to coordinate with the Department of Health and Human Services $(HHS)$ to reduce regulatory barriers, especially for software-as-a-service solutions. The company also emphasized the need for clear federal guidance on patient consent, privacy, and security standards, as well as industry-wide support for AI-driven drug manufacturing processes. Additionally, Premier recommended workforce training to address automation bias and suggested non-regulatory measures to improve transparency regarding the use and performance of AI models.
