Chalco's Attributable Profit Soars 90% in Q3; Hong Kong Shares Rise 4%

Aluminum Corp. of China or Chalco's (SHA:601600, HKG:2600) attributable profit surged 90% to 3.80 billion yuan in the third quarter from about 2 billion yuan, after adjustments, in the year-ago period, according to a Tuesday filing with the Shanghai bourse.
Earnings per share at the aluminum producer increased 91% to 0.221 yuan from 0.116 yuan in the prior-year period.
Operating income declined 4.7% year over year to 60.1 billion yuan from 63.1 billion yuan.
Shares rose nearly 4% in Hong Kong during morning trading on Tuesday.
