Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Posts Higher Net Profit in Fiscal Q2

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (NSE:TMB, BOM:543596) net profit increased to 3.18 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal second quarter from 3.03 billion rupees a year ago, according to an Indian bourse filing on Monday.
Earnings per share for the quarter ended Sept. 30 climbed to 20.05 rupees from 19.15 rupees a year earlier.
Interests earned by the lender rose year on year to 14.1 billion rupees from 13.4 billion rupees, the filing said.
Shares of the company rose over 2% in Tuesday's trade.
