　　据了解内情、匿名谈论内部战略的人士透露，斯塔默政府官员已开始在私下提议，希望他打破以往在脱欧问题上的谨慎态度，做出一项 “定义首相任期” 的决策 —— 推动英国与欧盟大幅拉近关系。

　　英国预算责任办公室估算，脱欧对英国经济产出造成了4%的长期冲击。因此，那些主张对欧盟采取更激进政策的人士认为这一调整将有助于提振经济增长，而增长正是斯塔默此前明确的政府首要任务。
