0753 GMT - Santander has provided a reassuring message on its U.S. auto finance business and reported that asset quality at the group level is stable, Citi says in a research note. The Spanish bank's third-quarter profit beat expectations and its capital position was broadly in line. The bank more importantly flagged "resilient auto customer behavior" in its U.S. division, which is reassuring given recent jitters, analysts write. Focus on the call with management should center on asset-quality developments in the U.S. and in Brazil and the potential value levers at its February investor day. The stock's outperformance over the last three months sets a relatively high bar for the results, they note. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
