0836 GMT - Erste Group Bank posted better-than-expected third-quarter earnings, which led it to raise its guidance, Citi says in a research note. "A good set of result and the market is likely to react positively, especially to the core [net interest income] beat," analyst Simon Nellis writes. The Austrian lender's positives were the stronger net interest income on good loan volume growth and deposit repricing, better payments and securities-related fees and a lower negative hit in other results thanks to a one-off release of legal provisions in Romania, he says. These were slightly offset by higher operating expenses and risk cost, he says. Shares rise 3.8% shortly after market open. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
