China's Li Auto to recall 11,411 MEGA 2024 EVs, market regulator says

BEIJING, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Chinese carmaker Li Auto will recall 11,411 of its MEGA 2024 multi-purpose electric vehicles, a Chinese regulator said in a product recall notice on Friday.

MEGA EVs made between February 18 and December 17, 2024, used coolant with insufficient corrosion resistance, which "in extreme cases can lead to thermal runaway of the power battery," according to the recall notice.

Shortly after the notice was released, Li Auto on its social media account apologised for a fire incident involving a MEGA EV in Shanghai earlier this month, which led to the recall.
