CN Rail Capacity Not At Risk With Lowered 2026 Capex Budget -- Market Talk

1058 ET - CN Rail's capex cuts won't affect capacity, management says. The Canadian railroad operator cut its 2026 capital expenditures C$600 million to C$2.8 billion. On an earnings call, executives say this won't put any stress on capacity, since over the past three years, the company has been working on improving its fleet of locomotives and that it now has enough capacity to accommodate any demand growth. "Our locomotive fleet is now middle of the pack in the industry, and really importantly, we are much more efficient now in the way that we deploy and execute on our capital program," executives say. CN Rail is up 4.7% at C$136.92. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
