Hormel Foods is parting ways with its top finance executive, Jacinth Smiley.
Hormel on Wednesday said Smiley is no longer serving as executive vice president and chief financial officer but will remain an employee until the end of November.
The Austin, Minn., maker of Spam lunch meat and Skippy peanut butter said it expects to enter into a separation agreement with Smiley, who joined Hormel in April 2021 and became finance chief later that year.
Hormel said Smiley's departure isn't the result of any disagreement with the company regarding its financial statements or reporting.
The company said it plans to conduct a search for a new finance chief that will include internal and external candidates. In the meantime, Paul Kuehneman, who has been Hormel's vice president and controller since February 2022, has stepped in as interim finance chief.
