MFS Favors Neutral Position in 10-Year Bunds Around 2.60% -- Market Talk

1040 GMT - MFS Investment Management has a neutral position on 10-year German Bunds at yield levels around 2.60%, says Peter Goves ahead of the European Central Bank's rate decision Thursday. The 10-year Bund yield is currently near that level, last up 0.5 basis points to 2.625%, according to Tradeweb. Broadly, MFS expects the 10-year Bund yield to trade in a range between 2.40% and 2.80%, assuming no major change in fundamentals, the head of developed market debt sovereign research says. It expects the ECB to keep policy rates unchanged on Thursday but says the December meeting could be more interesting. The ECB will have more data and updated forecasts in December, including projections for 2028, Goves says. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
