Jupiter Mines Says South Africa Manganese Mine Production Falls 31% Year-over-Year in September Quarter, Shares Fall 3%

Jupiter Mines (ASX:JMS) reported production of 829,798 tonnes from the Tshipi manganese mine in South Africa in the September quarter, down 31% year-over-year, and it sold 837,577 tonnes, down 19% year-over-year, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

It reported production of 1.2 million tonnes and sales of a little over 1 million tonnes in the year-ago quarter, according to an earlier filing.

The firm has a 49.9% beneficial interest in Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining Proprietary, which operates the Tshipi mine.

Mining of graded ore increased by 21%, while waste mining volumes decreased by 8% from the previous quarter, it added.

The firm's shares fell 3% in recent trading on Friday.
