U.K. Considers Scrapping Energy Profits Levy a Year Earlier Than Planned, FT Says, Citing Sources

--The U.K. government could scrap its windfall tax on the oil-and-gas sector one year earlier than planned, but is seeking assurances from the sector that it would result in new investment and jobs, the Financial Times reports, citing unnamed sources.

--The country's finance chief Rachel Reeves could use her fiscal event in November to end the energy profits levy in March 2029, rather than 2030, the report says.
