COSCO Shipping (HKG:1919, SHA:601919) booked a net profit attributable to shareholders of 9.53 billion yuan in the third quarter, down 55% from a year earlier, according to a Thursday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Hong Kong-listed shares of the firm were up more than 1% in Friday afternoon trade.
Earnings per share came in at 0.62 yuan, a decline of 53% year-on-year.
Operating revenue for the third quarter fell 20% to 58.5 billion yuan.
For the first nine months, net profit attributable to shareholders declined 29% to 27.1 billion yuan, while operating revenue decreased 4.1% to 167.6 billion yuan, the filing showed.
