Microsoft (MSFT) said Monday it will invest a total of $15.2 billion in the UAE as part of its artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure expansion plans in the country from 2023 through 2029.
The investment includes about $7.3 billion already spent since 2023, including a $1.5 billion equity stake in Emirati AI firm G42 and $4.6 billion in building data centers in the UAE, Microsoft said.
The company said it will invest an additional $7.9 billion from 2026 to 2029 to expand AI and cloud infrastructure and cover local operating expenses.
Microsoft said it has also secured export licenses to ship GPUs to the UAE, enabling deployment of more than 80,000 Nvidia A100 equivalent chips for AI workloads.
