11月4日，全球最大资产管理公司之一的负责人批评特朗普的移民政策“反增长”，称美国政府推进的前所未有的打击行动正在令高技能外籍劳工陷入混乱。道富集团CEO Ron O’Hanley表示，美国经济面临的最大挑战将是未来的移民政策走向。“现在被阻止的不仅是非法移民，还有合法移民，包括那些真正推动美国增长、繁荣和企业创新的移民。”“对我而言，美国当前面临的最大挑战，是移民政策将何去何从。目前没有一个清晰、连贯的政策框架。”
O’Hanley指出：“回顾美国几乎整个历史，它一直依靠移民驱动。在现代，如果没有移民，美国的人口结构早就像欧洲一样。而如今，我们已不再拥有那种规模的移民流入。”他表示，尽管很难质疑美国仍是一个良好的投资目的地，但“现在是一个不同的时刻”，全球贸易与资本流动正在重组，许多地区的财政状况也更加复杂。
