Indonesia Consumer Sector's Recovery Remains Intact -- Market Talk

0111 GMT - Visibility for the Indonesian consumer sector's recovery remains clear though the year's end, UOB Kay Hian analysts write in a report. Citing Bank Indonesia's recent retail survey, the analysts note retail sales is expected to recover in November. The brokerage's ground checks also suggest business sentiment has improved in early October. This comes after the appointment of new Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa in September. "His pro-growth and consultative approach with industry players has started to restore optimism," the analysts say. However, UOB KH says further clarity on its 2026 outlook for Indonesia's consumer sector will depend on insights from factors including a more defined macroeconomic view.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
