穆迪分析的经济学家在一份报告中称，在价格压力不断加大的情况下，澳大利亚央行周二几乎肯定会将其隔夜拆款利率维持在3.6%不变。他们指出，9月份当季整体通胀率同比从前一季度的2.1%跃升至3.2%。被澳大利亚央行视为关键指标的截尾均值通胀从2.7%升至3%。他们表示，在不造成重大就业损失的情况下让通胀率回到澳大利亚央行2%至3%目标区间的“狭窄路径“正变得越来越难以看清。
