智通财经APP获悉，谷歌旗下自动驾驶技术公司Waymo计划在圣地亚哥、拉斯维加斯及底特律三座城市推出商业自动驾驶出租车(Robotaxi)服务。尽管具体开放时间尚未明确，但报道预计该服务将于2026年年内向公众开放。
Waymo发言人表示，尽管公司目前已在加州获得自动驾驶网约车运营许可，但在密歇根州仍需取得交通网络公司许可证，而在内华达州则需通过该州车辆管理局及交通管理局的测试审批，方可开展商业运营。
该发言人强调：“我们将遵循安全框架，在充分验证技术并获得必要许可后，才会在这些城市为乘客提供服务，计划于2026年开放。”
目前，Waymo的自动驾驶出租车服务已在旧金山湾区、洛杉矶、凤凰城、奥斯汀和亚特兰大运营。公司表示，还计划在波士顿、西雅图、丹佛、迈阿密、纽约市和华盛顿特区推出服务。
