Valhi Inc. reported a net loss attributable to Valhi stockholders of $22.2 million, or $0.78 per share, for the third quarter of 2025, compared to net income of $57.5 million, or $2.01 per share, in the third quarter of 2024. For the first nine months of 2025, the company recorded a net loss attributable to Valhi stockholders of $4.4 million, or $0.15 per share, compared to net income of $85.2 million, or $2.99 per share, for the same period in 2024. Net sales in the Chemicals segment were $456.9 million for the third quarter of 2025, down from $484.7 million in the prior-year period. For the first nine months of 2025, Chemicals segment net sales were $1,441.1 million, compared to $1,464.0 million in 2024. The Component products segment reported net sales of $40.0 million for the third quarter and $120.6 million for the first nine months of 2025, up from $33.6 million and $107.5 million, respectively, in 2024. Real estate management and development net sales were $6.6 million for the third quarter and $20.8 million for the first nine months of 2025, compared to $15.3 million and $52.4 million, respectively, for the same periods in 2024. The decrease in net income was primarily attributed to lower operating results from the Chemicals segment, the absence of a non-cash gain related to the Chemicals segment's acquisition of a joint venture interest in the prior year, and an increase in income tax expense.
