Utilities stocks advanced 0.6% on midday Wednesday.
KALiNA Power (ASX:KPO) said that its wholly owned Canadian unit, KALiNA Distributed Power, completed the CA$18 million transfer agreement between the unit, Greenlight, and their customer, with receipt of the balance owing of CA$17 million from Greenlight's customer.
On the flip side, the information technology sector fell more than 3%. The ASX hit a fresh intraday six-week low. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones index fell 0.5%, the S&P 500 index shed 1.2%, and the Nasdaq index declined 2%.
Hansen Technologies (ASX:HSN) agreed to acquire 100% of the shares in UK-based firm Digitalk Group for 33.1 million pounds sterling. The acquisition will be funded through a combination of cash and debt, with completion expected to take place before the end of the year.
