Qantas Airways Launches Economy Plus with Extra Legroom, Priority Perks; Shares Fall 3%

Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) is set to launch Economy Plus in February 2026, providing passengers with up to 40% more legroom, priority boarding, and enhanced benefits for frequent flyers on domestic and short-haul international flights, the airline said in a statement released on Friday.
The launch aligns with the company's fleet renewal program, featuring new A321XLR and A220 aircraft already equipped with extra-legroom seating, while its 737 fleet will begin reconfiguration from December, per the report.
The company's shares fell 3% in recent Friday trade.
