1831 ET - CoreCivic's business from Immigration and Customs Enforcement has skyrocketed, as the agency aims to crack down on immigration. CoreCivic, which operates prisons and detention centers, said revenue from ICE in the third quarter increased 55%, to $215.9 million. That makes the agency CoreCivic's largest government contractor and means nearly half of the company's total sales are coming from ICE. ICE has contracted CoreCivic to reactivate two new detention centers and an immigration-process center, and acquire one new detention center. The number of people CoreCivic has in its facilities under contracts with ICE has increased 37%, to 3,700 individuals, this year, the company said. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
