Molson Coors Notes Continued Declines in Purchases from Low-Income, Hispanic Consumers -- Market Talk

1336 ET - Molson Coors CEO Rahul Goyal says that macroeconomic factors continue to pressure beer consumption, and that these impacts have a disproportionate effect on lower-income and Hispanic consumers. Health concerns regarding alcohol and changing consumer preferences have also challenged sales, he adds. "Everybody is aware that the consumer is pressured, so for us it's making sure we have a portfolio that can meet consumers," Goyal, who assumed the company's top role last month, says on a call with analysts. The brewer plans to lean on more on affordable brands and continue expanding beyond beer with nonalcoholic drinks. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
