Japanese developer Mitsubishi Estate (TYO:8802) plans to build 14 data centers across the United States at an estimated cost of 2.3 trillion yen, Nikkei Asia reported on Friday.
The company's U.S. subsidiary, TA Realty, will develop and manage these facilities, with the first one already operational in Virginia, said the publication.
Funding will come from institutional and corporate investors, with Mitsubishi Estate contributing at least 180 billion yen, said the report.
The projects, focusing primarily on Virginia, Atlanta, and Chicago, are scheduled for completion by 2030, the news daily said.
