Shares of SkyWater Technology rose after the company agreed to collaborate with QuamCore to produce quantum computing equipment.
The stock rose 26% to $22.67 and is up 64% so far this year.
SkyWater said the collaboration includes a multi-million dollar contract focused on co-developing single-flux quantum devices, a kind of superconducting device, to advance practical, large-scale quantum computing.
The companies will develop a superconducting fabrication process optimized for integrating single-flux quantum digital control circuits with superconducting qubit arrays.
