2204 GMT - Australia's S&P/ASX 200 is on track to open higher after the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged to a record. ASX futures are up by 0.2% ahead of Wednesday's session, suggesting that the benchmark index should rally from Tuesday's 0.2% slip, which came amid weakness in shares of Commonwealth Bank. Ahead of the ASX open, Mineral Resources said it agreed to sell a 30% stake in its operational lithium business for US$765 million. Flight Centre said it expects annual profit to rise by as much as 18%. In the U.S., the DJIA rose 1.2% as investors looked forward to a likely end of the long-running government shutdown. The S&P 500 added 0.2% and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.25%. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
