1998年11月11日，腾讯由马化腾、张志东、许晨晔、陈一丹、曾李青共同创立。
今日，腾讯官方发布《腾讯27岁，生日快乐！》一文，回顾27年的岁月，并回应了一些有趣的传闻。
有传闻称，QQ群这一功能的实现最早是为了员工约饭。
腾讯官方证实：“这是真的！”
官方介绍称：“QQ群这个功能最初是为了解决‘今天中午吃什么’这个历史性难题而诞生的。”
以前午饭前，大家习惯用邮件讨论去哪吃，但一来一回太慢，意见七嘴八舌。
当时一位产品经理实在受不了了，就提出：“能不能在QQ上加一个固定的名单让名单里的人都能实时聊天？”
于是这个为了“约饭”而生的点子，就成了后来的QQ群。
