AusQuest (ASX:AQD) said diamond drilling expanded the porphyry copper-gold system at its Cangallo discovery in Peru, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The drilling extended copper mineralization in stockwork veins to depths beyond 800 meters, confirming the scale of the porphyry system, the filing said.

Diamond drilling operations are scheduled to be completed in the upcoming weeks, with the final assay results anticipated by the end of December, per the filing.

Shares rose 3% in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
