Dow Jones
Nov 10

0836 GMT - Sibanye Stillwater's $215 million settlement agreement with Appian removes one of the key overhangs that dragged on its stock, RBC Capital Markets analyst Ben Davis writes. The settlement represents 30% of the potential $720 million of damages, is 40% lower than the $360 million RBC Capital Markets had expected, he writes. The payment settles a dispute with private-equity firm Appian Capital Advisory over the termination of an acquisition of stakes in two Brazilian mining companies. Shares trade up 6% at 4,844 South African rand. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
