Image credit: CnEVPost)\nLeapmotor (HKG: 9863) announced today that its year-to-date sales have surpassed 500,000 units, achieving its original 2025 sales target before the upward revision.\nThe Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker reaffirmed its 2026 target of selling 1 million vehicles and advanced the launch date of its Lafa 5 electric hatchback from the previously announced November 28 to November 27.\n\"We achieved our 2025 sales target of 500,000 units 45 days ahead of schedule,\" wrote Zhu Jiangming, the company's founder, chairman, and CEO, in his WeChat status today, according to a screenshot shared by Leapmotor on Weibo.\n\n\nJoin us on \nTelegram\n or \nGoogle News\n\n\n\"With multiple new models including the Lafa 5, D19, and A10 poised for launch, Leapmotor will challenge the 1 million unit sales target next year,\" Zhu wrote.\nThe company began pre-sales of the Lafa 5 in China on November 7, to compete in the electric hatchback market against models including the Volkswagen ID.3, SAIC MG4, BYD (HKG: 1211) Dolphin, and Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) Firefly EV.\nThe Lafa 5 starts at RMB 105,800 ($14,858) during pre-sales and boasts a CLTC range of up to 605 kilometers.\nThe company announced at the Lafa 5 pre-sales event that the model would be launched on November 28.
