Gold 50 (ASX:G50) said core drilling began at the Golconda project in Arizona after an earlier shallow precious metals discovery, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

The drilling program is designed to follow up on the shallow gold and silver discovery, increase the firm's knowledge of the depth extent of known mineralization, and explore new targets along the Tub Vein and Tub Footwall zones.

Its shares fell 5% in recent trading on Friday.
