Communications Services Down After Disney Earnings -- Communications Services Roundup

Dow Jones
Nov 14

Communications-services companies fell sharply after earnings from one bellwether.

Walt Disney shares plunged after the entertainment conglomerate reported roughly flat revenue and a decline in operating income during its fiscal fourth quarter, as struggles in television networks and movie production offset streaming subscriber growth.

Verizon Communications is planning to cut roughly 15,000 jobs, looking to reduce costs as it contends with increased competition for both wireless service and home internet customers.
