TotalEnergies (TTE) is contemplating selling some renewable energy assets in Asia in a bid to pare debt, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The French company has hired an adviser and is sounding out interest from potential suitors for the assets, the unnamed sources told the news outlet, adding that the assets could be worth "several hundred million dollars."

TotalEnergies didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

The company's shares were up 1.1% in recent premarket activity Thursday.
