知情人士透露，嘉能可公司（Glencore Plc）与高瓴投资管理公司（Hillhouse Investment Management）计划投资创新实业集团有限公司（Chuangxin Industries Holdings Limited ）即将在香港进行的首次公开发行（IPO）。当前铝价大幅上涨，此举表明两家机构对这家中国铝冶炼企业的发展前景充满信心。
这些因讨论未公开事宜而要求匿名的人士表示，这家瑞士大宗商品巨头（指嘉能可）与这家资产管理公司（指高瓴资本）拟以基石投资者身份参与此次 IPO。所谓基石投资者，是指在 IPO 中承诺持有股票一定期限、从而获得保底股份配售额度的认购方。
知情人士还指出，中国最大的民营铝生产商 —— 中国宏桥集团有限公司（China Hongqiao Group Ltd．）也将成为此次 IPO 的基石投资者。他们表示，上述三家企业及其他基石投资者合计可能认购此次 IPO 发行股份的约一半股份。
