Mitsubishi Electric Corp. set up a base in Osaka Wednesday to promote collaboration with client companies aiming for innovation in the digital field.
Called Serendie Street Osaka, the base is located near the entrance of the company's Kansai Branch Office inside Grand Front Osaka, a commercial complex near JR Osaka Station. This is the second of its kind, after a Yokohama location which opened in January.
The company is strengthening services centered on its digital technology platform "Serendie," and aims to enhance collaboration with clients in western Japan.
Spanning 110 square meters, the Osaka location features a bar counter-style area for snacks as well as a presentation space with a screen.
Through data analysis using generative AI and other processes, the company aims to identify issues faced by clients and explore solutions for them, leading to the creation of new businesses. Once a project reaches the commercialization stage, it will be transferred to the larger Yokohama base, which has more personnel in the digital transformation field.
"There are clients who feel Yokohama is too far away but want to do something digital. We want to provide those in western Japan with a place to enable them to access the data they need," said Toshie Takeuchi, an executive officer of the company.
