Indonesia's Consumer Spending Could Rise in 4Q -- Market Talk

0814 GMT - Indonesia's consumer spending could grow substantially in 4Q, driven by factors including the rollout of various government stimulus programs, says UOB Kay Hian analyst Suryaputra Wijaksana in a note. The free nutritious meal program is actively stimulating demand across the country and creating employment, offering a clear near-term boost. The consumer confidence index, which rose in October to 121.2 from September's 115.0, was driven by improving income expectations amid signs of business activity recovery and expanding job opportunities. As the government stimulus impact hasn't been fully felt yet and consumption could accelerate at a quicker pace, UOB KH forecasts 4Q and 2025 growth for Indonesia at 5.1%-5.4% and 5.1%, respectively.
