攻克耗能黑洞,下一代AI硬件系统能耗锐减57.2%

据媒体报道,近日,香港大学、香港科技大学与西安电子科技大学的联合研究团队在Nature子刊上发表成果,宣布攻克了AI芯片能耗的关键瓶颈。他们利用忆阻器可编程特性,创新性地打造出硬件原生自适应模数转换器(ADC)架构,使AI芯片功耗锐减57.2%,面积缩小30.7%,为下一代高效AI硬件系统开辟了新道路。

在AI算力需求呈指数级增长的背景下,存算一体(CIM)架构被视为突破算力瓶颈的关键。在先进的存算一体芯片中,ADC的能耗占比高达87.8%,面积占比高达75.2%,成为限制CIM芯片性能的关键因素。研究团队忆阻器ADC方案,通过存算一体化与忆阻器硬件创新,实现了AI硬件能耗锐减57.2%的技术突破。

当前AI算力需求呈指数级增长,数据中心能耗、边缘设备(如智能手表、无人机)续航已成为行业痛点。从长期看,该方案属于 “下一代AI硬件” 的关键技术突破,长期具备推动行业变革的潜力。
