Union Pacific Corporation has reached a landmark agreement with the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen $(BRC)$ to guarantee job security for union employees following its planned merger with Norfolk Southern. The agreement ensures that BRC members employed at both companies at the time of the merger will have lifetime job security, provided they meet standard employment requirements. This makes BRC the third national union, alongside SMART-TD and NCFO, to secure such protections for its members with Union Pacific. The deal is part of efforts to protect unionized jobs as the companies work to create America's first coast-to-coast railroad.
