BJ's Wholesale Club Investor Fears May Be Overdone -- Market Talk

1324 ET - BJ's Wholesale Club's long-term outlook hasn't changed much, even as a host of near-term challenges weigh on the stock, UBS says in a note. "Investor sentiment has been about as negative as we've seen on the name in quite some time," the analysts say, citing concerns over the company's efforts to keep prices low despite tariff-related cost increases, headwinds relating to SNAP benefits and a tough holiday set up. Still, the warehouse club should report further market share gains in 3Q and remains well-positioned to continue growing its membership base, they say. "We expect its low price model to position it well to attract incremental shoppers amid broader macro uncertainty in the coming months," they say.(kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
