0931 GMT - It is unclear how Smiths Group's spinoff or sale process of its detection unit will create value, given regulatory restrictions, RBC Capital Markets analysts say in a research note. That being said, the British engineering company reiterated its full-year outlook despite softer first-quarter results, the analysts say. Also, its 1 billion-pound buyback program is in line with prior commentary, they say. Consensus is expected to remain similarly unchanged, they add. Shares trade 0.2% lower at 24.40 pounds.
