The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police raided two offices of telecommunications giant KT (KRX:030200) in Seongnam's Pangyo district and Seoul's Bangbae area over suspicions that the firm concealed evidence following a hacking incident in September.
KT had reported a data breach on Monday, Sept. 8.
The investigation began after the Ministry of Science and ICT accused KT of shutting down servers connected to its remote customer inspection site following the cyberattack, Yonhap News reported Wednesday.
Officers executed search and seizure warrants as part of the probe, and KT's head of data security was booked on charges of obstruction of justice, the report said.
Shares of KT rose nearly 1% at market close.
