Teradyne's (TER) Universal Robots unit is collaborating with robotics software company Viam to support industrial automation with its UR Series collaborative robots, Viam said Tuesday.

Viam said it developed an artificial intelligence-powered robotic surfacing system using Universal Robots' collaborative robots to help manufacturers automate demanding tasks, minimize delays, and ensure consistency.

The system is paired with Universal Robots' robotic arms to support marine manufacturing, from small components to large hulls, Viam said.

The Viam platform also supports gelcoat and paint application, wood sanding, and polishing in furniture, construction, and broader manufacturing industries, the company added.
